The Resurgence playlist is one filled with helter-skelter action, as players swarm the ground and others fly through the skies to scramble for power positions and squad wipes.

Having gained popularity from its uninterrupted high-octane Warzone 2 tempo, fans are now giddy at the prospect of landing on Ashika Island on February 15.

But, it might not be all that it's made out to be. The Shadow Company could be casting its dark presence around the map.

Warzone 2 Devs Hint At AI Enemies On Ashika Island

Talking in the latest blog post, the developers lifted the lid on the lore of Ashika Island, and it seems like you won't be the only people in the lobby.

Members of the "Konni" group could be set to challenge players in the new Warzone 2 map, and even populate the underground passageways to fit in with the secrecy of their presence.

"While the location appears abandoned, there are whispers on the wires of Konni Operators remaining active in this conflict zone," reads the blog.

Ashika Island AI Enemies Set For DMZ

It's not yet certain whether they will rear their ugly heads in Warzone 2, but one thing is for certain, these deadly AI enemies will at least be spawning into Ashika Island for the DMZ mode.

The Resurgence map was confirmed to have a role in DMZ in Season 2, where players can access the map and continue completing the challenges set within the Japanese "Isle of the Sea Lion".

As usual, the AI enemies will guard the most sought-after locations on the map, meaning we'll have to be careful when infiltrating the main castle walls.

So, make sure to be watching your six and your squads' back in your first few drops to the island. Keep your eyes peeled for the possibilities of Strongholds...
