Twitch Streamer Furious With Viewers Who Criticise Playing Games On Easy Mode
The world of streaming is first and foremost a form of entertainment. Whether you're a viewer or streamer, platforms such as Twitch, Facebook Gaming, and YouTube allow engaging content played out on a huge variety of games.
Whilst many of the worlds top streamers have once been professional esports players at some point in their career (such as former Overwatch crackerjack Felix "xQc" Lengyel and ex-Counter-Strike star Michael "Shroud" Grzesiek), others have arisen through bright and infectious personalities. Engaging streamers like Imane "Pokimane" Anys and Rachel "Valkyrae" Hofstetter have become internet sensations without being at the top of their field in an individual game.
However, smaller streamers who play games for fun, whilst trying to exert a sense of personality into their content, often come under some element of criticism depending on the difficulty of their game.
For Twitch streamer "AshleyRoboto", games such as Kingdom Hearts, Phasmophobia, Stardew Valley and Final Fantasy allow for an easy pastime whilst being able to communicate with her 55.5k following.
After coming under some criticism from chat after playing on "easy mode" AshleyRobo has hit out at the elitist stigma on social media.
Taking to Twitter she stated "Let people play games however they want to! Are you seriously roasting me for trying to play a story that is notoriously one of the most convoluted lore-based games in existence?"
She continued to take to Twitter to express further emotion, adding "Not only does it not matter what difficulty you play on, having lower difficulty mode is great for accessibility, so maybe just let people play how they want."
Whilst playing more convoluted titles like Final Fantasy, Ashley implied that all she wants to do is just figure out the lore, watch the cutscenes, listen to the dialogue and enjoy the game "without any stress".
The video has since gone on to reach north of 35,000 likes, showing that there are a large number of gamers in the same corner. With a wealth of support, she has now called for gamers to normalise playing on an easier difficulty without facing ridicule.
