CoD Vanguard 'Set To Be Revealed At World Championships'

When it comes to the Call of Duty League World Championships, incredible plays, high-antics clutches, jubilant celebrations, and a tonne of smack talk is simply a guarantee, rather than a hopeful addition to the usual top-calibre performances at the pinnacle of CoD esports.

What's not guaranteed, though, is a direct correlation to the wider Call of Duty scene, including the ins and outs of the casual gameplay and reveals of exciting new features. Normally, the esports scene is left out on a whim, with no bridge from casual to competitive, which often hurts the viewership numbers.

However, in typical Activision fashion, the developers could be about to take their CDL advertising from 0-100, by tying in the biggest announcement of the calendar year with the World Championships.

CDL World Championships Coincides With Leaked CoD: Vanguard Reveal Date

Prior to the broadcast of the first three fixtures (Minnesota Rokkr vs Dallas Empire, New York Subliners vs OpTic Chicago, and Rokkr/Empire losers vs Los Angeles Thieves), the curtain could be raised by a huge announcement surrounding the next instalment of the Call of Duty franchise.

According to multiple leaks, the reveal date of Call of Duty: Vanguard is set to be August 19, the same day as Champs kicks off.

An alpha run will also be available following the conclusion of the championships, giving us a first glimpse of the World War 2 title that has been in development by Sledgehammer Games.

The hapless romantic may also have one eye on the Warzone Red Crates, with a small possibility that we may be getting an in-game viewership party for Champs. The crates are most likely tied into an in-game event where the Vanguard reveal will surface, although it could also be a smokescreen to air the championships live within Warzone.

Previously, the only CDL and Warzone crossover came with the winning Dallas Empire being presented on the side of the Stadium, although that was soon destroyed forever thanks to the map being nuked.

The championships will showcase some of the best Call of Duty on offer, as the eight best teams in the world reach the climax of their season. Storylines will be written off, history will be made, and one team will walk off with four shiny rings and the crown of being the CDL world champions.
