Streamer Disguised Toast Announces He's Taking A Content Break
Although Jeremy "Disguised Toast" Wang was a streamer on the rise in 2020, he's starting 2021 with a very different path and had confirmed he's stepping away from content creation. Disguised Toast is known for his streams as one of Facebook Gaming's biggest names, and just days after his "10,000 IQ" Among Us stream, he's announced he'll be taking a short break to care for his father.
With the explosive rise of Among Us last year, Disguised Toast became known as one of the definitive names in the social deduction game and uploaded daily videos to YouTube - sometimes even posting twice a day. For the time being, Wang is heading back to Canada for an undisclosed period of time. He's made this kind of journey before, however, a January 3 Tweet explained the reason behind his latest decision.
Why is Disguised Toast taking a content break?
For those worried Disguised Toast will be disappearing from our screens entirely, fear not. Wang confirmed he'll still be meeting his contractual obligations with Facebook Gaming, meaning he'll continue streaming. Even though there's no news on when Disguised Toast will return to his usual schedule, it is possible his team of animators and fellow creators could keep his YouTube channel alive in the meantime.
Following Disguised Toast's announcement, there was an influx of well-wishers from other major content creators. Imane "Pokimane" Anys, Karl Jacobs, Jack "CouRage" Dunlop, Rachell "Valkyrae" Hofstetter, and Tim "TimTheTatman" Betarall shared their heartfelt thoughts. It shows just how much a part of the streamer community Wang has become with his regular uploads.
The Taiwanese-Canadian streamer, got his start on YouTube when creating content around Hearthstone. After this, he rose to prominence on Twitch and was then nabbed by Facebook Gaming during the great streamer wars of 2019. As one of the platform's biggest early signings, he's continued to climb the ranks of notoriety. As of December 24, he'd had over 722.8 million views on his videos.
Disguised Toast is everywhere at the moment. As well as featuring in Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's all-star Among Us stream, he was also named as an honoree in the 2021 Forbes 30 Under 30. For now, there's sure to be a Disguised Toast-shaped hole in our usual content consumption.
