Dr Disrespect has revealed that he's known the reason behind his Twitch ban for months, and as a result, he is now suing the company.

During a stream, Dr Disrespect (real name Guy Beahm), said: "I can't talk about it. A lot of people ask me, 'do you know the reason [why you were banned from Twitch].... yeah, I do know the reason why now. I've known for months now. The reason why.

"And I'll just say this right now, champs. There's a reason why we're suing the f**k out of them, okay? I don't know how else to put it! The amount of damages and... you just don't... nah. Nah."

Why was Dr Disrespect banned from Twitch?

This is the big question. As it stands, the reason behind his ban has not been made public knowledge. At the start of 2020, Twitch signed him into an exclusive deal. But by June, his account had disappeared entirely.

Twitch does not comment on the reasons behind individual bans, generally, so it has remained a mystery. Although, at the time, they did say it was due to "a violation of their community guidelines and Terms of Service." How Dr Disrespect found out the reason behind his ban is anyone's guess, but it's interesting to see that he's known 'for months', and chosen to keep the reason private.

In September last year, the Doc revealed that there were mental health implications following his ban, saying: "My anxiety levels are something that comes in these huge waves. And I’m having a hard time dealing with it. I’ll be honest."

How long has Dr Disrespect been banned from Twitch?

It's now been over a year since the Doc was permanently banned from the platform (June 26th, 2020). However, he has since moved over to YouTube to continue making content for his 3.45 million fans.
