DrLupo Calls Out Haters In Angry Twitch Rant
All-round gaming phenomenon and Twitch sensation, Benjamin "DrLupo" Lupo, has one of the largest fan bases in the world. His Twitch account sits as the 14th highest followed on the platform, in between Nick "NICKMERCS" Kolcheff and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) tournament organiser ESL. With 4.4 million followers, DrLupo's live streams often populated with many vocal fans, and despite being one of the most philanthropic streamers, he has become tired of the constant "ridicule" from his supporters.
Recently, DrLupo won the hearts of the gaming community by stating that all his Twitch tips will be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a charity which he has helped raise over three million dollars for over the last two years.
Despite being a humble streamer and being no stranger to going above and beyond in terms of using his profile to promote charities and social campaigns, DrLupo's chat is not always as clean as he'd hope.
In a stream with Brianna "Caliverse" Rincon playing Destiny 2, DrLupo expressed that he can no longer enjoy Escape From Tarkov as much as he used too because he's gotten good enough to simultaneously be able to read his Twitch chat who are constantly criticising his gameplay.
DrLupo stated, "The problem now with [Escape From]Tarkov, is I’m good enough at it that I do have time to look down at chat, and it’s people telling me I’m f*****g missing stuff". He then responded to Cali's argument that he could simply turn the chat off, by adding "But then why the f**k am I live-streaming? Why don’t I just become a YouTuber then, right? Every facet of everything that I do at this point, in whatever game I’m in is constantly ridiculed and judged, no matter what.”
After switching to Destiny 2 and enjoying the Beyond Light expansion DLC, DrLupo hit out at the chat by predicting that they will continue to pull apart every second of his gameplay. He continued by saying "Here’s what I know is going to happen. For the next week, there’s going to people who come into chat and say ‘wow, you couldn’t even complete the raid the first night, LMAO’. And I know I’m going to get tired of that s**t, and I’m going to snap at one of those people”.
Having been open with his fight against 'toxicity' in the chat in the past, maybe this will spur his followers to comment with praise, rather than criticism.
