Master Chief is suiting up for action as the first Halo teaser trailer has appeared online. Pablo Schreiber had teased big news was on the way, and while the leak isn't official (yet), this is our first look at John-117 in action for the Halo series.

First Halo Teaser Trailer: What Do We See?

This first glimpse doesn't give much away, however, the clip shows Master Chief's armour in all its glory - looking like a faithful recreation of the games. There's also confirmation the series is on the way at some point in 2022. After a planned Halo movie kicked the bucket, Paramount has been attached to the project since 2013. Halo will now air exclusively on Paramount+

Orange is the New Black's Schreiber plays Master Chief, who is dubbed "Earth’s most advanced warrior in the 26th century and the only hope of salvation for a civilization pushed to the brink of destruction by the Covenant, an unstoppable alliance of alien worlds committed to the destruction of humanity." He's joined by The Truman Show's Natascha McElhone as Dr. Catherine Halsey - the creator of the Spartan soldiers.

There's a familiar face in the form of Halo's Jen Taylor reprising her voice role as AI entity, Cortana: "The most advanced AI in human history, and potentially the key to the survival of the human race". The cast is rounded off by Fargo's Bokeem Woodbine as Soren-066, Shabana Azmi, Bentley Kalu, Natasha Culzac, and Kate Kenedy.

If the trailer isn't the real deal (we're pretty sure it is), it's an amazing fan creation that should earn them a job at Paramount. The show joins an extensive lineup of live-action video game adaptations, with Halo surely going head to head with HBO's The Last of Us series.
