The recent acquisition of Bluepoint Games by PlayStation was a no-brainer for all parties involved. Bluepoint’s remake of Demon’s Souls, despite its lacklustre sales numbers, was a great introduction to the next generation of gaming, especially for fans of the Souls-like genre.

Now, following its great cultural success and the company’s purchase from Sony, rumours are beginning to swirl about another of the franchise’s games getting a remake - but that can’t be true. Not yet.

Bloodborne Remake Rumours Are On The Move

Rumours have begun to spill onto Twitter that Bluepoint’s next project is a remake of classic Souls-like title Bloodborne, much to the delight of fans. The game, despite only being released for the first time six years ago, has been on the receiving end of many calls for a remake, and according to one leaker, the call is about to be answered.

“I’m hearing through the grapevine Bluepoint Games may be on a journey to Yharnam”, says leaker Colin Moriarty on Twitter, referencing the gothic setting of the game.

This reveal has got a lot of fans excited but, and we hate to bear bad news here, it can’t be real.

Bluepoint Aren’t Making A Bloodborne Remake Right Now

As revealed by Bluepoint’s president Marco Thrush, the company aren’t going to be working on the Bloodborne remake just yet - in fact, they’re straying from remakes altogether.

“Our next project, we’re working on original content right now”, he revealed. “We can’t talk about what that is, but that’s the next step in the evolution for us.”

There’s every chance that the company could come back around to Bloodborne, but for now, it doesn’t look like it’s on the slate as the company are preparing to make a game off their own backs.

Sorry, Souls superfans - you might have to wait a little longer. Or, alternatively, just play Bloodborne. It’s not that old, guys.
