There's a Dark Mark in the sky, as Hogwarts Legacy fans are disappointed that we still don't have a release date for Avalanche Software's Harry Potter spin-off. Our dreams of an open-world HP are finally coming through, with Warner Bros. brewing up something big in the cauldron. The problem is, it's been cooking for a while.

Hogwarts Legacy will take the story in a different direction by charting a new era of the Wizarding World. Set in the late 1800s, there's a chance Dumbledore could appear, but apart from that, we're long before the story of the Boy Who Lived. Everyone is asking about the Hogwarts Legacy release date, and now, we might have an answer.

What's The Hogwarts Legacy Leak?

In a weird change of fortune, Nvidia seems to be our best place to get all the best gaming leaks. After GeForce Now teased the likes of two BioShock games in 2022 and a Batman: Arkham Knight sequel, the floodgates are back open with some more concrete release dates.

According to the latest treasure trove of reveals, Hogwarts Legacy is heading toward a March 8, 2022 release date. Wands up everyone - that means this magical masterpiece is closer than any of us thought. If Hogwarts Legacy is coming next March, WB Interactive better get cracking on the marketing.

Obviously, there's no official word from anyone on whether there's any merit in the GeForce Now leak. The March 8 release for Hogwarts Legacy might sound plausible, but of course, there are sure to be doubters. Either way, it's clear we need some sort of official update from up high.

What Else Do We Know About Hogwarts Legacy?

Apart from its reveal at last year's PlayStation 5 event, we know literally nothing about Hogwarts Legacy. Despite snippets of information revealing transgender character options and the possibility of the Dark Arts, everything has gone quiet. Avalanche has tried to distance itself from Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, which might explain why things are a little "silencio" right now.

Still, many of us were disappointed that the various PlayStation State of Plays haven't dished up anything on Hogwarts Legacy. Added to this, the game was notably absent from this year's E3, meaning we're rightly questioning when it's going to come out.

For now, all eyes are on this year's Game Awards, which will surely give us a more definite release window compared to Hogwarts Legacy's loose placeholder of 2022. We've already seen Hogwarts Legacy delayed from 2021, so let's hope devs can work their magic for a release sooner rather than later.
