Huge Final Fantasy News Is Expected At The Game Awards

The Game Awards have announced on Twitter that the Final Fantasy 16 producer, Naoki Yoshida, will be making a special appearance at the ceremony, and many fans of the series are speculating that he's coming with big news. FF16 is up for the Most Anticipated Game award with it expecting to launch sometime in 2023, but with no official release date yet, The Game Awards may be the perfect time to announce one.

It's been over two years since FF16 was announced, and during the 2022 Summer Game Fest, it got a trailer confirming it to be a timed PlayStation 5 exclusive, while also announcing it would launch in 2023. There hasn't been much news since then, though Brazil's ratings board for video games giving it a 16+ the other week, and in late October, Yoshida stated the game has "entered the home stretch", with development in the final stages.

All of this points toward a big announcement at The Game Awards, with it potentially being a release date confirmation and new trailer. Sometimes the fans are correct.

What Other Big News Is Expected At The Game Awards?

The Game Awards have become more than just an awards show at this point, and it stands as one of the principal gaming showcases of the year due to the frequency of huge announcements.

Tekken 8 has already been confirmed to be making an appearance by TGA host Geoff Keighley, along with the new Dead Space remake, which will be launching a little over a month later. While not much else has been officially confirmed, various leaks suggest Star Wars: Jedi Survivor could show up, along with the Elden Ring expansion everyone has been salivating at the thought of. You can also expect a number of surprises if past years are anything to go by.
