From the classic Pick Ten of 2009 to Vanguard's ten attachments per-gun system of '22, the Call of Duty evolutionary chain can best be shown through the gunsmith. Now, Modern Warfare 2 is getting even more convoluted.

Ahead of Modern Warfare 2, Infinity Ward has showcased a brand-new gunsmith system, which will change how you unlock attachments forever.

With realism in mind, gone are the days of having to grind each weapon to max level for the best attachments, as Modern Warfare 2 is employing a huge gunsmith overhaul.

New Modern Warfare 2 Gunsmith Showcased By Infinity Ward

Modern Warfare 2 will bring a brand-new system to the gunsmith, allowing you to unlock attachments that can be used on any gun.

By levelling up your weapons, you'll unlock attachments that can then be equipped to any weapon in that category. You can also change the body of an equipped weapon to transfer it from an AR to an SMG, for example.

This change is to spark realism in the game, with the developers claiming this is how real-life arsenals are crafted.

Modern Warfare Gun Bundles Allow For Incredible Creativity

With bundles gone by, you might have been put off some of the nicest designs by having attachments equipped to the gun that isn't favourable.

However, this will be no more, as the FJX Cinder Weapon Vault will come with over 50 attachments that are all tailored toward the same sleek skin.

No matter how you build the weapon, you'll be able to retain its look and camo design. This bodes well for those who like to keep up to date with the metas, allowing you to use new guns with the same effective attachments and designs.
