This year has taken its toll on most people. Yes, gaming has thrived but many esports players and gaming streamers have struggled with the intensive need to have constant content and meet the demanding needs of their audiences.

Unlike other industries, gaming has been busier than ever, and many personalities have ramped up their content to the maximum. One of the most popular streamers is Ali ‘Myth’ Kabbani of Team SoloMid, who has a whopping seven million followers on Twitch – the fifth biggest account on the platform. Known for a variety of games such as Fortnite, Among Us, and VALORANT where he coaches TSM, Myth has been busier than most throughout this year.

On the flip side of his success though, Myth has recently stated that “with coronavirus I've had some of the loneliest moments of my entire life. And tbh social media doesn't make that feeling any better,” and has unfollowed every person on his social media accounts.

Speaking to his 2.4 million large fan base on Twitter, Myth explained the reasoning behind his unfollowing purge, stating “I'm gonna be experimenting with having 0 people followed across my social media sites. I'm curious to see what impact not constantly having people to compare myself with has on me. Anyone that needs me probably has an open DM with me already”.

Myths explanation was met with an array of support from fellow streamers, such as Brett “Dakotaz” Hoffman, who responded saying “Love you Myth. You’re an amazing streamer and do whatever you gotta do”.

Myth did say that the decision is not permanent, but some well-earned mental space will surely do him the world of good.
