One of the greatest Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt, players to ever grace the game has officially announced his retirement, confirming a switch to Riot Games' VALORANT.

The one-year-old title has already robbed some of CS:GO's greatest generational talents, but none more exciting than NBK.

Taking to Twitter, the 27-year-old Frenchman announced his "new beginning".

Claiming that he's "done it all" in CS, his venture into VALORANT does begin as a free agent, yet to announce which team he will be joining.

His 12-year long CS career saw NBK notch up over $800,000 in prize money, with lengthy stints at Team EnVyUS, G2 Esports, Team Vitality, and OG. NBK will now leave OG, after moving to the inactive roster in February of this year.

NBK won eighteen major championships in his CS career, including multiple DreamHack's, ESL Series, and even a World Championship for France in 2015.

He now joins the likes of Spencer "Hiko" Martin, Sam "DaZeD" Marine, and Shahzeeb "ShahZaM" Khan, who have made the switch to VALORANT, the latter of who won the first international LAN and set down a foundation for Counter-Strike supremacy in VALORANT.
