It's that time again, as all eyes are on Riot Games' VALORANT and the reveal of a brand-new Agent. While Apex Legends has continued to churn out new additions like Horizon, Fuze, and Valkyrie to much fanfare, VALORANT has struggled to make as much noise with Skye, Yoru, and Astra. All of that could be about to change with its latest addition.

Like Fortnite's changing of the chapters, each new Episode of VALORANT promises to overhaul the game we thought we knew. We're on the cusp of the hyped Episode 3, and just like Episode 2 brought Agent 14 (Yoru) to the hero shooter, there's someone else ready to step into the limelight.

Who is the new VALORANT Agent?

Ready to join the party is KAY/O, who is described as a "robot initiator" and will join the Initiator ranks alongside Skye, Breach, and Sova.

Riot Games said: "KAY/O is a machine of war built for a single purpose: neutralizing radiants. His power to suppress enemy abilities cripples his opponents' capacity to fight back, securing him and his allies the ultimate edge."

When asked what their goals were when designing KAY/O, John Goscicki, Character Producer, said: "With KAY/O our goal was to add something that felt familiar to traditional FPS players, but had elements that made it uniquely fit within VALORANT. This is represented in a couple of ways: FLASH//DRIVE and FRAG//MENT should be bread and butter gameplay for many of you that have been lobbing nades your whole lives,

"With Suppression creating moments where gunplay is all people can rely on. KAY/O was the first Agent that we started developing after the game launched, and we wanted to integrate him into the world a bit more. By now you have seen the teasers on Breeze, which were one way we pursued this, for all of you lore-inclined folks he has some fun relationships with the roster. Finally, robots are cool… Yeah."

The leaks started doing the Reddit rounds on June 16, but have now been confirmed by Riot Games. The OP said they came across these "private leaks” of the next Agent after they “found them on a Discord server".

What are fans saying about the new agent?

Well, a lot of fans are getting pretty thirsty for the robot agent. One Twitter VALORANT fan wrote: "this new valorant agent kinda hot omg".

Another said: "Uhm what do you mean the new valorant agent isn’t hot and sexy???"

The comments kept coming, including: "New valorant agent is so hot wtf" and "Oh no valorant's new agent is a hot robot. Riot you can't harness this much power its not allowed".

This isn't the first we've heard of KAY/O, thanks to VALORANT Character Producer John Goscicki teasing their arrival in a May 28 post. Back then, Goscicki explained, "This time around we are throwing in some abilities that should feel familiar to folks who’ve played traditional FPS games their whole lives, but with added elements that will make those recognizable abilities unique within our roster. This is an Agent whose utility can create moments where you must rely on your gunplay".

Goscicki then trolled fans with a series of random letters and claim his keyboard must've glitched. This starts to make sense when we see KAY/O's robotic potential. Have they hacked into the core of VALORANT lore.

When will we meet the new VALORANT Agent?

VALORANT already hinted at a robotic companion (cue Pathfinder comparisons) at this year's Summer Game Fest, with a tiny teaser showing what we now assume is KAY/O being tinkered on in a workshop. Here, Killjoy was disabling an Alarmbot and using it for her own needs. There are swirling reports that KAY/O will be able to shoot daggers that could disable other Agents' abilities. But, now it's been officially announced, here's a full rundown of exactly what his abilities are.

Things are ticking down on Episode 2 Act 3, with Episode 3 set to officially kick off on June 22, the same day that KAY/O is officially joining VALORANT.
