Neymar Officially Joins Facebook Gaming
He's considered one of the greatest footballers of all time. Now, Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior (A.K.A. Neymar Jr.) is making his way to a new pitch, Facebook Gaming.
The Brazilian footballer has won the hearts of fans all around the world thanks to his work in helping bring triumphant success for his clubs, Paris Saint-Germain and Brazil's national team. However, one thing that might not be as well-known about Neymar Jr. is his love for gaming.
Facebook Gaming may have some stiff competition from the likes of YouTube and Twitch, who've been spending some eye-watering figures to grab hold of the biggest names in streaming. However, Facebook has pulled out the top trump card by signing on one of the most famous athletes in the world to its team, Neymar Jr.
Neymar Announces He Has Joined Facebook Gaming
On December 16, Neymar announced that he had signed exclusively with Facebook Gaming. In a Facebook post, Neymar Jr. said: "Gaming has always been one of my biggest passions and I can't wait to have fun with general here on my Facebook Page." The play further shared his excitement in a small clip alongside the announcement in which he stated that he was "looking forward" to his new venture and encouraged viewers to spread the word.
Of course, Neymar fans will already be aware of the footballer's passion for gaming as he, previously, hosted and streamed his playthroughs of games such as, Call of Duty, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and Fortnite, where he even got his very own set of skins. The 29-year-old also set up a Twitch channel in which he streamed his playthroughs and went on to gain 1.8 million followers on the platform, as of writing. However, sadly, this stint was relatively short-lived as Neymar was suddenly banned from the platform without any explanation as to why.
When Is Neymar's First Gameplay Stream?
According to Neymar, his very first Facebook Gaming stream is due to take place on December 17, 2021 at 4pm Brasilia Standard Time or 8pm for Neymar's Parisian fans. However, there's no word as yet as to what games the Forward player will be featuring on in his first gameplay.
It's safe to say that Neymar is certainly busy at the moment, what with the Facebook Gaming announcement as well as his upcoming Netflix documentary Neymar: The Perfect Chaos, which is set to premiere on Jan. 25, 2022. Oh, and being a multi-million dollar footballer is sure to take up his time as well. Yet, he hasn't let it get in the way of committing himself to a new venture and combining his love for gaming into a whole new career as a Facebook Gaming Creator.
