Warzone 2 has been missing a thing or two while it lays in the shadows of its predecessor, and one of those features is sniping.

Verdansk's popularity was part in parcel with the sniping meta. The balance between the HDR and AX-50 was peak Warzone, and as it evolved to include the Kar98K, it only got better.

But with Warzone 2 severely lacking in the one-tap headshot department, making for a nearly useless sniping faculty, things are about to change...

One-Shot Snipers Teased For Warzone 2

According to Call of Duty insiders CharlieIntel, Infinity Ward is working on a "one-shot sniper rifle" game mode that will come to Warzone 2 in the near future.

The game mode will likely see only snipers be allowed in Al Mazrah, or possibly even Ashika Island, where the damage will be cranked up to avoid any hit markers.

This news has pleased fans too, with FaZe Clan's "Testy" taking to Twitter to say, "That's so awesome".

There's no indication as to whether this will be in Season 2 or beyond, but you could assume it might be set for the mid-season update before Warzone 2 Ranked arrives.

Infinity Ward Rule Out One-Shot Snipers In Core Warzone Mode

Despite the one-shot mode coming to Warzone, CharlieIntel also revealed that the developers have indefinitely ruled out the chance of having one-shot snipers in the regular game modes.

Unfortunately for those with a keen quickscope, it appears that one-shot sniping will be restricted to just a limited-time game mode.

Still, at least the upcoming spin-off idea will mix things up a bit and offer a haven for all snipers to get their ends away.
