After Two Years PUBG LITE Is Officially Shutting Down
PUBG LITE is officially shutting down after two years.
In a blog post, the company thanked its fans, expressing that the game helped the community during the pandemic: "We are deeply grateful for the passion and support from the astounding number of PUBG LITE fans that have been with us. During the strenuous times of the COVID-19 pandemic, we hope that PUBG LITE was able to provide our fans a fun way to stay safe.
"Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision to close service after much deliberation and the time has come for our journey to end. We regretfully inform you that service of PUBG LITE is scheduled to end on April 29th, 2021 (UTC)."
They added that players will be able to continue to play the game and spend in-game credits as normal, including the L-COIN that players already have, until the termination time. In regards to the Facebook Page, they confirmed that it will be open after the game service termination 'until further notice'.
Ending the blog post with an apology, they said: "We would like to convey our sincerest apology as well as our deepest appreciation to everyone. We truly hope you have enjoyed your time with us and please look forward to our future endeavors."
One person Tweeted: "This is actually kinda sad. I tried out PUBG Lite awhile ago. Never really got into it because I just play the main game on both console and PC but I know of some people who really enjoyed it."
PUBG Lite was a free version of the game, designed for lower-grade computers and laptops. The studio stopped updating the game back in January 2020, where they introduced the snowy Vikendi map to the game.
Customer support is ending on May 29th, with the game shutting down entirely on April 29th.
