It's the news we've all been waiting for, Saints Row is officially getting a new game. That's right, new characters, new city, new everything. The game will feature three new Saints - Neenah, Eli and Kevin.

The news was confirmed during Wednesday's Gamescom presentation, but we've been expecting this for a while. The official Saints Row website recently changed, showing nothing but an image of a wall with 'Rebooting' sprayed on it.

Some people believed it would be a straight-up remaster, but it's a completely brand-new story set in American South West, riddled with violence and crime, driving, shooting and fighting, and hustling your way to the top.

A few more details have been revealed on the website, with the game saying: "You play as whoever you want in your journey from Newbie to Boss, kicking ass and fighting… well not crime obviously. We’ll talk more about our most extensive character creator ever in time, but it wouldn’t be a Saints Row game if you couldn’t roleplay in a range of roles from bank manager to green-skinned zombie alien monster, would it? Wherever you are in that spectrum, you do you, or... not, we’re here for it."

Does The New Saints Row Have Co-op?

Yes! On the website, the game said: "As is the custom, we have seamless untethered co-op so you and a friend can create those Saints Row moments together – friendship really is magic."

There are three main gangs, and they're all different to each other. During the stream, we found out that you have to defeat them all to reach your goals.

The new description reads: "Welcome to Santo Ileso, a vibrant fictional city in the heart of the American SouthWest. In a world rife with crime, where lawless factions fight for power, a group of young friends embark on their own criminal venture, as they rise to the top in their bid to become Self Made.

"Experience the biggest and best Saints Row playground ever created; the unique sprawling world of Santo Ileso is the backdrop for a wild, larger than life sandbox of thrilling side hustles, criminal ventures and blockbuster missions, as you shoot, drive, and wingsuit your way to the top."
