Skyrim Mod Adds Playable Witchers
Fantasy RPGs remain incredibly lucrative in the video game world, and the games that exemplify just how special the genre is have latched onto the gaming hivemind and refuse to let go. The likes of Skyrim and The Witcher are in it for the long haul, with hype refusing to die around the Elder Scrolls title, and with multiple Netflix series, board games, and books to keep The Witcher as relevant as ever.
And now, one Skyrim mod is threatening to smash the two worlds together. Modding and Skyrim go hand in hand, but just when you think you've seen it all, you can now turn the Dragonborn into Geralt of Rivia.
Skyrim Mod Brings The Witcher To Tamriel
One new mod is bringing two iconic fantasy worlds together, and is allowing players to become a Witcher from the get-go in Skyrim. The mod, revealed by the Skyrim Modding YouTube account, shows off your ability to select "Witcher" as your race at the very beginning of the game - giving you their iconic glowing eyes. Selecting Witcher as your race also gives you the "night eye" ability, allowing you to see in the dark for 60 seconds.
The mod offers a larger array of spells that the player in the video uses to harass the NPCs of the game, like gust, which acts like the "unrelenting force" shout, only cast by the player’s hand.
There are also a few other spells, like Stream, Blast Melt Defense, and Metabolic Boost Power - that adds to the immersion of becoming a Witcher in Tamriel.
The mod creator has urged fans to pair up the mod with another mod called A Witcher’s Adventure, to make it a much more immersive Witcher experience.
What Is The Witcher’s Adventure Mod?
The A Witcher’s Adventure mod is a large Skyrim mod that adds a huge plethora of quests, items, signs, and alchemy options to the game to make the difference between The Witcher and Skyrim even slimmer.
The mod offers the immersive quests and adventures of the game in the world of Tamriel, and the playable Witchers mod adds plenty to that experience.
If you loved The Witcher so much you’re willing to play it all over again, these mods may be for you - as chances are, you’ve got a copy of Skyrim kicking around somewhere.
