Every open-world game has its loathsome NPCs. It comes hand-in-hand with the experience, frankly - but there's one character that shines above the rest in all of their hideous glory. Nazeem.

Nazeem is likely the first character you'll bump into when you enter Whiterun on your journey through Skyrim, and his smarmy, smug face is endlessly punchable right from the offset.

He's one of the least popular NPCs in gaming history, and for good reason. And now, one Skyrim player has found a way to condemn him to a fate worse than death.

Skyrim Player Shuts Up Nazeem For Good

One player has found a way to convince Nazeem to keep his mouth shut for the foreseeable - by peeling his head from his shoulders and keeping him alive at the same time. Ouch.

A new video shared to the Skyrim subreddit has shown an incredibly bizarre bug that sees the player decapitate Nazeem, yet for some reason, his head floats around beside his shoulders once it's been severed, and he then simply gets up and starts wandering around again. Only this time, he can't speak. Blissful.

The bug is incredibly strange, and according to the post's comment, the severing is permanent.

Nazeem's Silenced Bug Is Seemingly Permanent

According to the replies of the post, it seems as though Nazeem's floaty-head bid of silence is a permanent deal, meaning that the player won't ever have to worry about being asked if they've ever been to the Cloud District, even if Nazeem respawns.

"It's permanent. I tested it," says the original poster to a curious commenter. "He walks around, but can't talk to anybody any longer. He was probably trying to ask me about the Cloud District."

So, whatever this bug is, it might become a ticklist item for players replaying Skyrim. Silencing Nazeem for good could become a typical step for runs of the game, and for good reason. Finally, some peace and quiet.
