E3 2021 so far has been great for exciting and eclectic game announcements. Xbox revealed some big details on some indie titles and their new flagship games, Eidos Montreal unveiled the controversial Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy; and we’re not even finished yet. Even with more to come, it’s been an excellent event so far. And before we’ve even seen the last of the show, some games are already made available for the consumer to try out, completely for free.

E3 Games Already Have Live Demos

As part of a new event developed by ID@Xbox, a lot of games revealed at Summer Game Fest as E3 kicked off are available to try right now in demo form. The art of the demo seems to be a lost one, as we can now simply play games whenever we see fit - but it’s worth noting that these demos aren’t traditional.

The original blog post on the Xbox website announcing these demos suggests that these are more like “show floor demos” than they are akin to something you’d find on a demo disk for the early PlayStation. They’re not entirely indicative of the final product of the game, but still - it’s exciting to get a hold of some of these games early, even if they’re smaller builds.

It’s worth noting that these demos will only be available for a week, starting today on June 15 and ending on June 21, so make sure you get them downloaded quick if they tickle your fancy!

E3 has been a big deal so far for announcements, but now you have a mass of 40 games to try out for yourself. For a presentation that’s entirely digital, this is a surprising degree of interactivity, and we can’t wait to give these games a spin ourselves.
