Tyler "Tyler1" Steinkamp is one of League of Legends' most controversial characters and one of the most popular streamers within the scene. Splitting fans right down the middle, his antics divided many.

Back in 2016, Tyler1 was banned from the well-known game, and has since returned to the scene, pledging to improve himself and League of Legends as a whole.

However, during his time being banned, Tyler1 has claimed that he was approached by Team Liquid to compete for their academy team.

Speaking on his Twitch stream, he stated: “Do you know what’s funny actually? Team Liquid wanted me to play for their academy too", in response to fellow streamer Julian ‘Tarzaned’ Farokhian discussing how the organisation wanted to sign him.

Tyler1 added "I swear to god, it was a couple of years ago before I was even unbanned, but I was about to get unbanned", before stopping in his tracks, cautious of saying more than he probably should on the subject.

Known for his skills as a bot lane, mainly picking Draven, Tyler1 could have featured alongside the likes of Ashkan "TF Blade" Homayouni who is a substitute at Team Liquid Academy at the moment.

Tyler1 would likely have turned this down due to his ban and wanting to focus on streaming full-time, which has led him to break multiple records since returning to Twitch. At the time of his return to League of Legends, the streamer shattered Twitch's concurrent viewer record, showing his position within the LOL community. Despite that record now being beaten, Tyler1 still remains as one of the biggest influencers in League of Legends.
