When you look back through the history books of each individual esport, a team stands out that moulded the very games that we know today.

The compLexity dynasty in Call of Duty, SK Telecom T1 and the unkillable demon Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok in League of Legends, Ninjas in Pyjamas in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and even the current rampant San Francisco Shock in Overwatch - all these teams will go down in history for being the first sides to dominate their respective titles and advance their games in ways that were unfathomable.

After just one year, it appears that Sentinels are writing out their pages in the VALORANT esports books, preparing for people in years to come to see them as the pioneers of Riot Games' new tactical FPS.

At the helm of the Sentinels' arsenal is Tyson "TenZ" Ngo, and he's now been branded as the best player in the world by a highly reputable community figure.

Shroud Names TenZ as the best VALORANT player in the world

Sentinels launched the defence of their crown in the VALORANT Champions Tour Stage 3, having become the first international champions in Stage 2.

Heading into the first qualifying round of the stage, all eyes were on Sentinels to see how their showstopping star would perform, with some whisper surfacing that he was 'overrated' - pft.

In their match versus Susquehanna Soniqs, it was TenZ who was getting all the plaudits once again, blowing away co-stream host Michael "Shroud" Grzesiek.

The FPS veteran went into a fan frenzy after TenZ picked up a typical TenZ-like four-piece, saying, “Who said he is overrated? He is the best player in the world right now. That’s just a fact.”

Is TenZ the best VALORANT player in the world?

Shroud certainly thinks so, and Sentinels' recent success seems to back up his claims. TenZ himself has recently claimed that Mehmet Yağız "cNed" İpek of Acend is one of the most exciting players on the globe too, having shown Europe his skills in Stage 1.

Many of the other top teams in the world boast closer team dynamics, rather than flashy individuals (although Sentinels have quickly mastered both), meaning in-game leaders such as Jake "Boaster" Howlett of Fnatic and Anthony "vanity" Malaspina of Version1 are also classed as some of the world's greatest players.

However, TenZ seems to be on a level of his own, with few players being able to handle his heat.
