The tiny form factor, tiny price and great power of the Xbox Series S has made it a great choice for many to get involved in the next generation of gaming without breaking the bank.

The route into a new generation has never been an easier one to travel, and especially with the game pass to boot, the Series S is a gaming haven for a fraction of the price of the high-end next-gen consoles.

And now, it has a new degree of playability, as one company has transformed it into a portable console too.

A Kickstarter for an attachment to the Xbox Series S has had a huge blast of popularity online, as it promises to make the console totally portable if you can find a power supply wherever you may be. The xScreen attaches a fully functioning screen to the console, that can fold down across the length of it when not in use. It adds a whole way of using the console and makes it perfect for long commutes or travelling.

The screen plugs straight into the HDMI port, so you don’t have to waste your time with fiddly cables. The 11.6” screen, despite its small size, is still capable of a 1080p resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate with speakers to boot.

The Kickstarter has been more than a success - of its £7,003 goal the xScreen has raised £48,604 so far with 426 backers at the time of writing, and it still has a full 28 days of campaigning to go.

The console attachment is a throwback to the bootleg screens for the original Xbox, but are also a great addition to the console. And to be totally honest, we can’t wait to sit cross-legged on the floor of an airport waiting room playing Sea of Thieves on the xScreen.

This comes after Xbox released an official 55” monitor to play games on, recently. We're spoilt for choice!
