The Diablo Immortal combat rating system is essentially the be-all and end-all of fighting in Blizzard’s latest game. In every encounter, Diablo Immortal will check your own combat rating against whatever you are fighting, and the higher yours is the more damage you will do. So, if you’re wanting to know how to check and raise your Diablo Immortal combat rating, keep reading below.

How To Check Diablo Immortal Combat Rating

All you need to do to check your Diablo Immortal combat rating is head over to the character inventory screen. From there, hit the attributes button in the bottom left, and then tap the more attributes modifier to see your Diablo Immortal combat rating at the top.

This is not a static number as it will be constantly increasing the more you play the game. In the early game it won’t really mean much to you, but as you get into the later parts of Diablo Immortal you will start to see combat rating recommendations attached to various challenge difficulties and Helliquaries.

After unlocking the Helliquary at roughly level 41, the Diablo Immortal raid system will finally be available to you. Unfortunately, you are unlikely to be able to dive in due to the minimum combat rating restriction required to begin participation.

To begin any raid or find a raid party in Diablo Immortal you will need a combat rating of at least 420. You are unlikely to possess a Diablo Immortal combat rating this high until you reach the mid-late level 40s, but there are a handful of ways you can prioritise to increase your combat rating.

Improve Your Gear

Improving your gear is in theory the simplest way to raise your Diablo Immortal combat rating. Each piece of gear you equip has a handy gear score attached to it, which makes it easy to decide whether to replace your existing equipment.

While it does not directly correlate to the Diablo Immortal combat rating system, the higher gear score something has the higher your combat rating will go, meaning that it is always good to be improving your gear.

The most straightforward way of getting a higher gear score is to pick up better items, but if you’re wanting to improve your existing gear, make sure to utilise the upgrade system. Head over to any blacksmith and upgrade your gear as much as you possibly can. Don’t worry about wasting upgrades on items you’ll soon replace either, as there is a handy gear ranking transfer system which allows you to shift your old gear’s upgrade level to your fancy new gear.

Make Use Of Gems

Gems are a fantastic way to increase your combat rating in Diablo Immortal, and it is always a good idea to have as many gems on your items as they can hold. Gems can be acquired in a whole manner of ways, and come in both standard and legendary formats.

Legendary gems especially can make a huge difference to your combat rating depending on what their stat bonuses are, so prioritise them over any others if you want to quickly raise your Diablo Immortal combat rating.

Check For Legendary Skill Modifiers

It is obvious that legendary tier gear is worth equipping because it usually provides the best stats in the game, however, there are even further benefits to the gold-framed items. Many legendary items possess skill modifiers specific to your chosen class alongside their already attractive gear score. The Barbarian class, for example, could have a skill modifier that decreases damage taken while moving, allowing them to think less about stopping and think more about hitting - what’s more barbaric than that?

All of these class-specific skill modifiers cause an increase in your combat rating, so make sure to check them over when choosing which gear to equip. An item that has a lower gear score could have a skill modifier which works better for you so is a stronger overall choice.

Upgrade The Helliquary

Once you have reached the minimum combat rating required to start raids in Diablo Immortal a great way to boost your combat rating even higher is to continue to defeat bosses and upgrade the Helliquary.

Defeating Helliquary bosses will grant you Helliquary trophies as a reward which can be used to get special stat bonuses for your character. Combining this with the Hellfire Scoria to consistently get new missions will give significant boosts to your combat rating. This method can only be found in the endgame content, however, and as mentioned does require you to meet a fairly high combat rating threshold, but it still remains one of the best ways to raise your Diablo Immortal combat rating.

So, that rounds up all you need to know about the Diablo Immortal combat rating, and all of the various things you can to do raise your own. If you’re already increasing your combat rating though, why not check out the Diablo Immortal max level for some more late-game information.
