How To Unlock Diablo Immortal Essence Transfer
To unlock the Diablo Immortal Essence transfer mechanic the first thing you need to do is acquire two legendary items of the same category. It cannot just be two legendary pieces of armour however, it must be the same specific type, for example, two helmets, or two shoulder pieces. How quick you can get your hands on this is relatively based on luck, but it should definitely happen within your first 30 levels.
Once you’ve managed to procure your two legendary items, head over to Rakki’s Plaza in Westmarch and speak to Zamina. With the two items in your inventory, it should unlock her services tab in which you can start the Diablo Immortal Essence transfer process.

How To Use Diablo Immortal Essence Transfer
Although you need the two similar items to unlock the Diablo Immortal Essence transfer feature, you don’t actually need to use both items to begin your transfer. You actually only need the item you want to extract the essence from, and can decide what item you want to have it inherit in the future.
Extracting does incur a fee, and permanently destroys the item rendering it irretrievable, so make sure you’re happy to get rid of it. The great thing however is that the Essence from these extracted items remains with Zamina indefinitely, so if you find any legendary item that you’re not going to use then feel free to deposit it here so its trait can be used in the future.
- Not allowed to enter a raid? You might need to increase your Diablo Immortal Combat Rating
However, much like the two items you needed to unlock the Diablo Immortal Essence transfer system these stored essences can only be inherited by items of the same quality, so take that into account too.
The inheriting process is much the same as extraction, just in reverse. All you need to do is pick the item you want to inherit an Essence, and then choose what you want it to inherit.
Unlike the extraction process this is completely free, so no need to worry about cost - it does mean that the inherited Essence is removed from Zamina’s library though so it’s not like you can inherit the same Essence an unlimited amount of times.
- Trying to attack on PC but nothing's registering? You might have the Diablo Immortal can't attack bug
One key thing to watch out for is that inheriting an Essence does not just take on the legendary trait that the old item held, but also the appearance and name of the old item too. If you had an attachment to the name or look of your current item then this is definitely something to weigh up. Your new item will hold onto any pre-existing upgrades and stats though so you should be left with a much improved piece of gear in the end.
That’s all you need to know about the Diablo Immortal Essence transfer system. It is super simple to use when you get the hang of it, and can be an invaluable tool when you start picking up a lot of high tier items in the mid to late game.
