Leaning into the branching narrative of Dying Light 2, the Moonshine quest is available after a collection of decisions are made. That being said, for those trying to 100% the game, or maybe those stuck on the Dying Light 2 Moonshine safe code, then you'll want to read on for our guide on everything you need to know about the Dying Light 2 Moonshine guide.

Dying Light 2 Moonshine Quest: How To Access The Moonshine Quest

The Dying Light 2 Moonshine quest starts as far back as the Dying Light 2 Water Tower quest, and focuses on the characters of Jack and Joe. You can check out our guide to see the other outcomes, but for the sake of the Moonshine quest, you're going to need to offer to help both of them.

This will prompt them to ask you to meet them at the tunnels near the Tango Motel - where all the drama from Dying Light 2 meet Sophie or Aitor choice - however, you won't actually need to do that. You can get on with a few side quests or main missions before heading over to the Peacekeeper base in the central loop.

Now that you've agreed to help Jack and Joe but left them all the same, head to the Peacekeeper base in The Wharf district of central Villedor. Once inside the hull of the make-shift base, head downstairs and enter the prisons. Inside you will find a bickering Jack and Joe, who will give you some abuse for leaving them to rot. They have now been sentenced to hang by the PKs.

However, in their last request they ask that you retrieve some special Moonshine which is hidden in a safe back at the Horseshoe Water Tower. You will reluctantly agree. Simple fast travel back to Old Villedor, and make your way to the Water Tower which will be marked. If you don't know how to fast travel in Dying Light 2 yet, you can check out our guide.

Dying Light 2 Moonshine Quest: The Safe Code

Jack and Joe will instruct you to retrieve the Moonshine from a safe, but they struggle to remember the specific safe code, claiming that it is the year that America was discovered. Now a quick Google search will tell you that this is the year 1492, but with each safe code split in three ways, it can be a bit of a fiddle to find out exactly how the code is split up. However, after a bit of experiment we found that the code was split as such

14-9-2

Once opened, you can pocket the Moonshine and head back to the PK base and hand it over to Jack and Joe, who are suspiciously glib about their delivery. This will complete the Dying Light 2 Moonshine quest, and reward you with parkour XP, alcohol and old world whiskey. We also received an exotic Shoelace Machete in our stash upon completion, although it does not seem to be specific to the Moonshine quest.

If like everyone with any kind of sense are aware that Jack and Joe are up to something then we advise you to come back to the prison the next day. You'll find that the two have blasted their way out of the prison cell and escaped death for yet another day.

That's everything you need to know about the Dying Light 2 Moonshine quest. Now that you've been rewarded with that sweet XP, check out our best Dying Light 2 skills guide.
