Click to enlargeMost players trying to get their first peek at the Fortnite Chapter 3 map were already treated to a host of connection issues, and eventually the Fortnite waiting in queue drama due to the utterly enormous demand of the Chapter 3 launch. However, once those issues cleared they were faced with the Fortnite white screen. This issue is predominantly taking place on the Nintendo Switch, but there have also been complaints on both Xbox and PlayStation. There have also been some reports on PC, but they seem to be quite limited.
The Fortnite white screen isn't a server issue, but actually appears to be an issue within the game. When launching into Chapter 3 for the first time, you will be treated to a white screen before it eventually fades into a character lying facedown on a beach. The problem for a lot of players is that they are being held in the white screen, with the beach scene not loading.

Click to enlargeFor the most part, the Fortnite White Screen issue has been resolved. For those still worried, it does take a little bit of time to load into the Chapter 3 beach scene. However, many players are still facing the Fortnite white screen, and those that have managed to overcome it have missed out in the opening cinematic.
If you do face any issues yourself, then your two options are to either wait (no more than 10 minutes) or restart the game. This seems to be the guidance that the official Fortnite Status Twitter account is providing.
