Halo Infinite Playlists: All Modes Available In Multiplayer
The Halo Infinite Slayer playlist has been a highly requested feature ever since Halo Infinite launched in November. As it stands players aren't able to jump into specific mode based playlists in Halo Infinite, however that is all about to change. With an upcoming update this week, players will finally see things like Halo Infinite SWAT playlists enter the game. Halo Infinite Slayer Playlist: Slayer And Swat
Click to enlargeMany players feel that a Halo Infinite Slayer playlist is needed to make this latest entry in the franchise truly feel like Halo. Originally, 343 Industries had explained that Halo Infinite playlists hadn't been included on launch to focus on quick matchmaking. However, with some fierce feedback from fans, 343 Industries' Senior Community Manager John Junyszek announced that four Halo Infinite playlists would be added with an update, which was later announced to launch on December 14.
Among the new update, players will be able to enjoy a Halo Infinite Slayer playlist and a Halo Infinite SWAT playlist. SWAT in particular has remained an integral part of the Halo multiplayer experience.
Halo Infinite Slayer Playlists: New Additions
Click to enlargeNow that we know that we're getting a Halo Infinite Slayer playlist, what are the other playlists which will arrive with today's update? Here's a breakdown of all the Halo Infinite playlists added thanks to the latest update:
- Slayer - This is the classic team deathmatch style Halo outing in 4v4, with standard spawn guns and then more powerful weapons found around the map.
- Fiesta - This mode came recently during the Halo Infinite Tenrai event but is being added again. It's essentially Slayer, but you spawn with random weapons, making for a fun twist on gameplay.
- Free-For-All Slayer (FFA) - Here's your chance to play every man for himself. Think of it as Slayer but with no teams, so you can kill anyone. It's typically played with eight players in past games.
- Tactical Slayer (SWAT) - In SWAT, players have no shields on their armour, and generally spawn with precision weapons. Your aim will need to be top-notch, as you're going to want to aim for one-shot headshots in this mode.
In the Reddit update that informed players of the Halo Infinite playlist changes, the community manager did say that for now the Slayer mode will just offer standard Slayer, but in the future they intend to add further variants to the playlist.
Halo Infinite Slayer Playlist: Existing Modes
Click to enlargeThe Reddit update from 343 didn't make any mention of the current crop of Halo Infinite playlists, so we can assume they'll be left as is. The current playlists stand as:
- Quick Play - Presumably it will be renamed once the new playlists hit, but it has a mixed bag of 4v4 modes. The current ones are One Flag CTF, CTF, Strongholds, Oddball, and Slayer.
- Bot Bootcamp - This is for newer players or those who just want to experiment with the game, and places you with and against bots. It has CTF, Strongholds, Oddball, and Slayer.
- Big Team Battle - BTB is where the chaos happens, with huge 12v12 warfare. Its current mode selection is CTF, Slayer, Stockpile, and Total Control.
- Ranked Arena - Ranked is where you can get your competition on, and compete to earn Halo Infinite ranks based on your skill. It has ranked versions of all the Quick Play modes, so you start with a different loadout and no minimap.
