Click to enlargeCall of Duty Modern Warfare 2, and consequently Warzone 2, has a brand-new non-linear battle pass system. Instead of unlocking the things in order as you earn XP like most battle passes in the industry, the MW2 one allows players to choose their own rewards with battle pass tokens.
Earning battle pass tokens is as simple as playing games of MW2 multiplayer, Warzone 2, or the DMZ mode and earning XP. While your XP used to count toward the next reward, now it goes toward a token, which you can then use to unlock a reward on the battle pass map. You can see the number of these tokens in the bottom right corner of the battle pass screen.
Another option for players that don't want to grind out XP for new tokens is purchasing them, which can be done by selecting the "Buy Tokens" option on the battle pass menu. A single token costs 150 COD Points, but for a much better deal you can buy the battle pass bundle, which comes with an additional 20 tokens.
Using the tokens you've earned just requires you to select a sector from the map on the battle pass menu, and then choose one of the five rewards in the sector. After all the rewards in the sector are exhausted, you can move onto a new sector for more rewards. This lets players priories the rewards they personally want, instead of having to work through the filler rewards first.
