This MultiVersus Shaggy guide can help any newcomers to the game looking to excel with the most easily-frightened detective of the Scooby-Doo gang. Shaggy is one of the few “recommended” characters in MultiVersus, meaning he is a strong character who is easy to pick up, earning him one of the top spots on the MultiVersus best characters tier list. For more information about how to use this character properly, keep reading this MultiVersus Shaggy guide.

MultiVersus Shaggy Guide: Overview

Shaggy lacks the extensive combo game you would find in the MultiVersus Harley Quinn guide. While this helps keep his game plan simple, it also means he might not have the same capabilities as other characters at the highest level of play.

As a Hybrid fighter, Shaggy is equally adept at killing opponents vertically as horizontally. He is also a Bruiser, meaning his moves hit hard, even if some of them have a slow start-up. Players who can successfully read their opponents or whiff punish them with strong moves will find a lot of success with Shaggy.

Shaggy’s passive ability is called It’s, Like, Off-the-Charts and deals with a unique mechanic known as Rage. When Shaggy is Raged, his special attacks hit harder, gain armor, and apply maximum stacks of the Weakened debuff to opponents he hits. However, his Rage will disappear after he uses a special attack.

While Shaggy is Raged, his allies become Enraged, meaning they will apply maximum stacks of Weakened with their next melee attack. In addition, Shaggy starts each life with a sandwich he can throw as a projectile.

MultiVersus Shaggy Guide: Specials

For his neutral-special, Zoinks!, Shaggy charges Rage. After charging it, he drops a Scooby Snack that provides a bit of healing to whoever eats it. In 2v2s, Shaggy rushes toward his ally after charging it, making them Enraged and dealing a bit of knockback to any nearby enemies.

Shaggy’s side-special, Chiller Instinct Kick, is a slow-but-powerful flying kick. Similarly, his up-special, Power Uppercut, is a flying punch that deals a great amount of knockback and can easily kill opponents off the top of the screen. If Shaggy is Raged, Power Uppercut will hit multiple times if Shaggy uses it on the ground.

His grounded down-special is Like, Feed the Hunger, which causes him to equip a sandwich or throw a sandwich if he already has one. The sandwich throw becomes larger and does more damage if Shaggy is Raged, although Raged Shaggy will simply do a slam attack on the ground if he doesn’t already have a sandwich.

In the air, Shaggy’s down-special is Like, C’Mere Man! With this attack, he hurdles toward the ground and gains armor, dealing damage to nearby enemies when he lands. If he is Raged and doesn’t have a sandwich, Shaggy’s aerial down-special creates a shockwave that hits multiple times on the ground. Conversely, Shaggy will simply throw his enlarged sandwich while in the air if he has a sandwich before he becomes Raged.

MultiVersus Shaggy Guide: Perks

Shaggy has two signature perks in MultiVersus. The first, One Last Zoinks, automatically gives him Rage when he has taken more than 100 damage. The other, Hangry Man, enables him to charge Rage more quickly if he has a sandwich equipped. However, he must eat his sandwich in order to do so, meaning it can’t be used as a projectile.

Shaggy’s best Utility perk, Last Stand, causes him to deal 10% more damage with all of his attacks after he has passed 100 damage himself. As a result, this perk pairs nicely with One Last Zoinks, as the two perks in conjunction make Shaggy an offensive powerhouse when he is at a high percent.

The Offense perk Lumpy Space Punch grants him a 5% damage buff to his aerial melee attacks, which helps Shaggy when he approaches with moves like neutral-air, forward-air, and down-air. Finally, the Defense perk Kryptonian Skin causes Shaggy to take 4% less damage from enemy attacks. This helps his survivability, which is especially important when he is over 100 percent and is looking to mount a comeback with his other offensive perks.

Because many of his strongest moves are a bit slow, comboing with Shaggy is no easy feat. Nevertheless, a low-to-the-ground down-air from Shaggy will pop opponents into the air. At certain percentages, he can follow up with an up-special to launch his opponents to their deaths.

Similarly, Shaggy can combo a down-air into a forward-air to force his opponents to the side and off the stage. From there, he can kill them off the side with another forward-air or off the bottom with another down-air.
