Modern Warfare 2 is filled with maps for players to enjoy, each of them catering to several different playstyles. If you're a fan of sniping at longer ranges, there are maps that will suit you perfectly. Prefer to play up close and personal? The meat grinder maps are still here for your pleasure. However you like to play Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 2 has it all. Keep reading for a full map list for Modern Warfare 2.

At launch, Modern Warfare 2 was home to 12 different maps. However, some of these maps only catered to normal game modes while a select few could also host Ground War, a much larger-scale mode that accommodates more players.
Infinity Ward is still adding new maps to Modern Warfare 2 as part of the live service. So, if you're not a fan of the maps available at launch, it's worth returning to see if you prefer any of the newly added ones. Here is the complete list of maps available to play in Modern Warfare 2 right now:
- Al Bagra Fortress (Ground War and Normal)
- Breenbergh Hotel (Normal)
- Crown Raceway (Normal)
- El Asilo (Normal)
- Embassy (Normal)
- Farm 18 (Normal)
- Mercado Las Almas (Normal)
- Sa’id (Ground War)
- Santa Seña Border Crossing (Ground War and Normal)
- Sarrif Bay (Ground War)
- Shipment (Season 1)
- Shoot House (Season 1)
- Taraq (Normal)
- Zarqwa Hydroelectric (Ground War and Normal)
Shoot House and Shipment were added to Modern Warfare 2 as part of Season 1. Following this trend of adapting classic Call of Duty maps for Modern Warfare 2, it's likely that we'll see other classic maps make their way to the new game too. Keep your eyes peeled on this list for when any other new maps might be added to Modern Warfare 2.
