MW2 Level Cap: What Is It?
The current level cap in Modern Warfare 2 is Level 55. This is the maximum level that players can reach between October 28th and November 16th - this is when the first Battle Pass releases. As players level their way up to Level 55, they will constantly unlock new weapons, perks, and score streaks. There's constantly something new to unlock.
Once players reach Level 55, they will still be able to continue earning XP and level up their weapons. However, they won't be able to progress their account rank any further. This is because Modern Warfare 2 doesn't let you prestige your account just yet.

However, once the first Battle Pass season releases alongside Warzone 2 on November 16th, that's when Infinity Ward should let players begin to prestige their accounts. In the past, the developer of Call of Duty has added around four prestige processes per season, meaning that there should be around an extra 220 levels for players to progress through in the next few months. Of course, we will then also have the Battle Pass to content with, which should see players earning XP to progress through the 100 levels of included cosmetic items.
Players might find it frustrating that they can't prestige their accounts right off the bat, especially as some might have already reached the level cap within the first few days of playing. However, it's safe to say that players will be able to up to their heart's content in just a few short weeks.
