MW2 Oni Operator: How To Unlock

Modern Warfare 2 Oni operator is a unique appearance you can take on in multiplayer. Modern Warfare 2 allows players to change how they look in the game by choosing an Operator as their in-game avatar. Oni is one such Operator, but not one that is available to everyone. Let's get the bad news out of the way first, Oni is available only through very specific means. First of all, the Oni Operator and weapon blueprint are exclusively available through the PlayStation store. You need to buy the game there in order to get these in-game items.

What's more, Oni is a pre-order bonus. You get these items for having pre-ordered the game through the PlayStation store, which of course is now an issue because the game is out and can no longer be pre-ordered. In the days of physical media, being a few days late meant you still had some chance of getting your hands on any pre-order goodies that come with a game. Dealing with a digital storefront is not so loose with the rules.

There is currently no mention of Oni becoming available to purchase or unlock through other means, or if the Operator will be coming to platforms other than PlayStation. That said, items like these often find their way back around, and pre-order bonuses are often exclusive only for a time. While we cannot confirm anything, there is always a chance that Oni will become available to everyone in the future.

MW2 Oni Operator: What Do You Get?

The Oni bundle that comes as a pre-order bonus does not just reward you with the Oni Operator. You also get the Dragonfly M4, an alternate look for the weapon with a floral Japanese design.

Not all the rewards shown in the previews have been made clear as to what they are in the game. For example, there is an Oni logo that does not appear to be an emblem you can use in Modern Warfare 2, so perhaps that may be usable in Warzone 2.0. It will be a while before we can say for sure, but what we can say for sure is that the bundle includes the Oni operator and the Dragonfly M4 assault rifle.
