Resident Evil Village: How To Solve The Bells Puzzle
Just like villainous vampire Lady Alcina Dimitrescu, players are sinking their teeth into Resident Evil Village and getting lost in this wild world of werewolves, witches, and woes. It's been 25 years since we first stepped inside the Spencer Mansion for Resident Evil, and while a lot has changed, there are still plenty of throwbacks to the early days in Village. Even though Castle Dimitrescu is a far cry from the Arklay Mountains, there's a sense of familiarity as we navigate this labyrinth of monsters.
Like any good Resident Evil game, Village is packed with puzzles to test your wits. If warding off sword-wielding ghouls and vampiric daughters wasn't enough, the Castle section of the game is made even more harrowing by Lady D stalking you through the halls. Like a more buxom version of Resident Evil 2's Mr X, Dimitrecu will relentlessly chase Ethan Winters (albeit slowly) and is ready to slice him to pieces with the giant talons. Besting the towering temptress is the aim of the game, but before you get to her rooftop showdown, you'll have to reach her through a series of puzzles.
When Castle Dimitrescu opens up its secrets, and Lady D spreads her wings for a final confrontation, players are being left stumped by the "five bells" puzzle. Thankfully, we're here to lend Ethan a hand - let's be honest, he needs it.

How do you complete the Resident Evil Village bells puzzle?
Gaining access to the Atelier is a challenge all of its own, but after collecting the Mask of Sorrow and Mask of Joy, it's time to turn our attention to the Mask of Rage and get ready to feel the wrath of Dimitrescu. Capcom gives you a nudge in the right direction with a cryptic clue attached to an unfinished easel that reads, "Let the five bells of this chamber ring out". The Atelier is one of the cavernous castle's smallest rooms, however, it's easy to miss some of the five bells that need to be run.
Bell 1: Located on the shelf to the left of the painting
Bell 2: Behind you on the top of the dresser
Bell 3: Look to the clockwork wall with rotating cogs - the bell is between the moving parts.
You'll know you've hit a bell because a fire will light above it. Players only have to hit each of them once, but either way, make sure you shoot them or hit them with a knife to save some ammo. Even though the first three are relatively easy, the final two are the ones leaving some suitably stumped.
Where are the final two bells in the Resident Evil Village Atelier puzzle?
If you're looking for the fourth and fifth bell, they'll require some Sherlock Holmes-esque detective skills.
Bell 4: Climb the stairs and hit the chandelier, handing in the middle of the room. When it swings, you should be able to see the bell.
Bell 5: The trickiest of all the bells means you need to stay at the top of the staircase and look outside the glass dome. The bell is actually located outside the room in a distant tower, meaning you'll have to break the glass with one bullet, then hit the bell with a second. We'd suggest turning your brightness down to get a better view of the last bell.
If you've done the five bells challenge, the portrait of Lady Dimitrescu should move to one side and let you pass into the attic. Up here, the real prize is unveiled in the form of the super rifle (finally). From here, you can step out onto the roof and into a new area of the castle. As well as taking out lurking gargoyles, this will lead you into your final assault against Dimitrescu and her brood. Ding ding, we have a winner!
