God of War Ragnarok, like many single-player titles, are narrative-driven experiences in which the story works if tandem - if not superseding gameplay. However, if you are at all not bothered about what is happening in the plot and just want to get to the hacking and slashing, or if it is not your first time playing, it is easy to wonder "how do you skip the cutscenes?". Well, let's get into it with this quick and easy guide to answering "can you skip cutscenes in God of War Ragnarok?".

Unfortunately for those who were hoping, no, you cannot skip cutscenes in God of War Ragnarok - both in the default settings and there are no options to turn on the ability to skip cutscenes.

However, the option to skip cutscenes could come to God of War Ragnarok further down the line. After all, the New Game+ update for God of War (2018), which added the option to skip cutscenes (for even first playthroughs), didn't arrive until August 2018 - four months after the game's release.

While it may not happen within the same timeframe, a similar update enabling the option to skip cutscenes in God of War Ragnarok could definitely still happen. If following the same timeline as God of War 2018, this could happen as soon as March 2023.

That's everything you need to know for now on our guide answering the question "can you skip cutscenes in God of War Ragnarok?". In the meantime, here is how many hours you will need to beat the game as it is. Alternatively, if you are playing on PS4, why not check out everything that comes with the God of War Ragnarok PS5 upgrade
