When is Warzone season 5? The start time and release date for the new season of Call of Duty Warzone is right around the corner which will no doubt bring map changes, new guns, perks, and more. But when does Warzone season 4 end and the Warzone season 5 start time begin? With not long left to go at all, here's everything you need to know about when is Warzone season 5 start time, release date, and everything else.

Warzone Season 5 Start Time And Release Date

Warzone season 4 ends at 12am EST (east coast US)/5am BST (UK time), so it's safe to assume that the Warzone season 5 start time comes immediately after. There'll be an update file to download but after that, you should be able to jump into Warzone season 5 immediately. There's no word on if there'll be any downtime across the board but if there is, keep an eye on the official Call of Duty Twitter to see when the game goes live again.

Warzone Season 5 Roadmap

The official Warzone season 5 roadmap has revealed everything we can expect in both the battle royale and Black Ops Cold War, with the big additions definitely being a new mode called Clash. This is a "spiritual successor to Warzone Rumble", the 50v50 mode previously seen in the game. This features teams of four in an unlimited respawn deathmatch, where players spawn with their starting loadouts. So it essentially turns Verdansk into an enormous multiplayer map with the usual Warzone add-ons like armour plates, buy stations, and vehicles.

Another big change this season is the new gulag, Rush. This is also a multiplayer map in Black Ops Cold War, although the gulag part is only a small section of the map. The full map would probably be a little too big for a 1v1 fight. Two new perks, Combat Scout and Tempered, also enter the fray. Combat Scout makes any enemy you damage get highlighted in bright orange, while Tempered makes armour plates hold 75 points of protection each, rather than 50. The downside is that you can only equip two at a time, so you can't go over 150 armour.

Warzone Season 5 Map Changes: Mobile Broadcast Stations

We don't know all of the details surrounding any upcoming Warzone map changes, but we do know that Mobile Broadcast Stations are on the way in season 5. They're confirmed to offer "rewards" and their locations will change from one match to the next, but exactly what that entails is yet to be seen.

As we approach the holiday season with no announcement regarding Call of Duty 2021 (currently rumoured to be titled Vanguard, although who knows what the Call of Duty Vanguard release date will be), it’s safe to assume that a reveal is on the cards during the next season, meaning that a new event could appear and inject some intrigue into the map. It’s thought that a World War 2 themed Verdansk could come around when the game is released, but for now, perhaps some teases could be the lot of it.

Warzone Season 5 New Guns

Thanks to the roadmap above, we know that there are four new weapons coming to Warzone season 5, three of which will be available from the start. The EM2 (assault rifle), TEC-9 (SMG), and Cane (melee) can be unlocked as soon as Warzone season 5 goes live, while the the Marshal (sidearm) will be released later on in the season.

Warzone Season 5 New Operators

There are three brand new operators coming to Warzone season 5, but only one will be available at the start. Japanese operator Kitsune is the character in the promotional material and will be in the game from the get-go, while Stryker and Hudson will be coming later on, like the Marshal gun.

There have been some reports of classic character Soap MacTavish appearing in some games of 2019’s Modern Warfare, and an operator bundle featuring the scot has previously appeared on CODTracker, so who knows - maybe he’ll be making his grand arrival during this season?

That’s everything we know about the exciting new season so far. Bring on August 10 and take a look at our other Warzone guides below.
