Why Is The Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Campaign So Short?
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has been highly anticipated for months now, and millions of players have dived into the campaign upon launch. Many of these have now also finished the campaign too, with only 11 missions in total.
With fans looking to get a deeper look into the past lives of key protagonists such as Alex Mason and Sergeant Frank Woods, their expectations may have fallen short due to the length of the campaign.
As for the quality, the storyline and aesthetics do not disappoint, until it comes to an abrupt ending. So, how short is the Black Ops Cold War campaign?
Black Ops Cold War Campaign Length
The Black Ops Cold War campaign amounts to roughly four hours of gameplay if you run through the missions without searching for intel or jumping on the minigames. Compared to the previous campaigns that normally amount to roughly six hours of game time, Black Ops Cold War is one of the shortest campaigns yet.
The playing time varies on which difficulty too. Approximately four and a half hours is the time it takes to get through the campaign on the Rookie difficulty, with each step up taking roughly an extra 30 minutes due to how many more enemies you will face or having to be extra careful not to die. On Veteran, the Black Ops Cold War campaign may take close to six hours to complete.
There are also multiple “Evidence” pick-ups to be collected throughout the campaign, akin to the previous “Intel” drops in other games. Searching and collecting these may add to the time it takes you to complete each mission too.
Why Is The Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Campaign So Short?
The Black Ops Cold War Campaign has multiple alternate endings, which is supposed to add to the total time playing. The alternate endings will mean that the players have morality options that decide the fate of the team. This is designed to allow the players to go through the campaign and be able to operate the final mission in multiple ways.
