Will There Be A Warzone 2 Ranked Mode?

Many fans are wondering, will there be a Warzone 2 ranked mode? Call of Duty Warzone 2 was released back in the middle of November, providing players with a sequel to the immensely popular COD battle royale. Its launch has been somewhat problematic due to issues with bugs, performance, and connectivity, but another aspect that's puzzling players is the lack of ranked. Will There Be A Warzone 2 Ranked Mode?

Currently, there is no official confirmation of a Warzone 2 ranked mode being in development or coming to the battle royale in the near future, but there is some evidence to suggest that it will happen. Competitive Warzone is already fairly big, with frequent unofficial tournaments taking place, but it's missing a competitive mode for players to aspire towards, despite fans asking for it since the launch of the first game.

The first piece of evidence that suggests ranked may happen comes from an official confirmation by the Call of Duty creative lead at Raven Software, Josh Bridge, who claimed that they were evaluating the mode for the first Warzone back in March 2022.

"I cannot wait to get to ranked play because that's ultimately what we need to make sure that highly skilled players have an end game", Bridge stated in an interview with Optic TeeP. "We don't take it lightly so we're evaluating it". While he's referring to the first Warzone here, it's likely any work on the ranked mode will have been pushed over to Warzone 2 by this point.

The second piece of evidence came later in July 2022, when a notable Warzone leaker on Twitter, @TheGhostOfHope, claimed that a competitive mode was coming to Warzone before MW2. While this didn't actually come true, he also stated the mode was set to be a blueprint for the fully-fledged version in Warzone 2, so it's possible they may have pushed this back to be tested in Warzone 2 instead.

Since then, we've not had much news about the existence of a Warzone 2 ranked mode. Fans are still asking for it, and Raven has clearly displayed interest in developing the mode previously, so it's not a definite no right now, but we're still waiting on some official confirmation.
