How To Transfer The Witcher 3 Save From PS4 To PS5
The free next-gen update of The Witcher 3 is finally here. Players from all over on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC are excited to jump back into the world of The Continent - or even for the first time - and enjoy all the technical improvements including 60FPS and 4K. However, those trying to resume their playthrough from PS4 are unsure of how to transfer their saves to PS5. Here is how to perform the "Witcher 3 transfer save from PS4 to PS5" method.
How To Transfer The Witcher 3 Save From Ps4 To PS5
As with PS4-to-PS5 upgrades in other games, this "Witcher 3 Transfer Save" method involves needing to go back into your PS4 version of the Witcher 3 and apply the latest update. If you since deleted your PS4 port of The Witcher 3 from your console's storage, you'll need to reinstall it entirely.
Next, in your fully updated PS4 version of The Witcher 3's main menu, go into the "Load Game" option. The version 4.0 update should now give you the option to enable cross-progression/cross-save by pressing L2.
Then, the game will mention you need to link an account at GOG, CDPR's digital game distribution platform. If you already have an account, you can easily link with it. If you don't have one, registering can be done very quickly.
Afterwards, your next manual save should be auto-uploaded into the cloud. So, go into The Witcher PS4 version, enter the game, and perform a new manual save, and that should be uploaded into the cloud.
Once your save is uploaded, a cloud icon will appear next to it. Next, go into your new PS5 version of the Witcher 3.
In the PS5 Witcher 3's menu, select "My Rewards". Then connect to your same GOG account in the same manner as earlier. Your chosen PS4 save should now be available in the PS5 Witcher 3's "Load Game" menu.
