Rachel "Valkyrae" Hofstetter has officially announced that she is staying put on YouTube.

Valkyrae is without doubt one of the most famous figures in the streaming community. Having started her streaming career on Twitch, she soon moved to posting her gaming videos over on YouTube. She then sealed her title as an official YouTuber when she signed an exclusive contract with the platform, seemingly leaving her Twitch days behind her.

It doesn't look like Valkyrae will be waving the purple flag any time soon, after the streamer announced that she has renewed her contract with YouTube. In doing so, she quashed any rumours that she'd be switching to Twitch or Facebook Gaming.

When Did Valkyrae Announce She Is Staying With YouTube?

On January 31, 100 Thieves co-creator Valkyrae announced that she was going to be staying with YouTube. The news came after the 30-year-old had taken a break from streaming because she was waiting for the production of her 'announcement video' to be finished. Valkyrae shared the new glossy video to reveal the exciting news featuring her arriving at the studio to 'film' the clip, and she took every opportunity to tease fans as to what her final decision would be. For example, at the beginning of the video, she waved goodbye to the red car (i.e. YouTube) she arrived to the studio and struggled to choose between a red or purple wig.

Despite having all the options to have a flashy video to make the announcement, Valkyrae just simply stated that she was "staying with YouTube". She also poked fun at the video made by Twitch-streamer-turned-YouTuber Ludwig "Ludwig" Ahgren who announced his move in a much more explosive way

One thing that was perfectly clear from the video was that Valkyrae is staying far away from Facebook Gaming, as when someone offered her a coffee from a blue cup, she quickly smacked it from their hand. Although, Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior (A.K.A. Neymar Jr.) has certainly enjoyed a decent amount of success since he joined the platform.

Valkyrae Is Staying On YouTube: Fans React

Fans were elated to see that Valkyrae was sticking with YouTube and quickly rushed to shower her with congratulatory messages. Her fellow streamers, who have all found huge success on either YouTube or Twitch, also positively responded to the video. Some famous faces included, Hasan "HasanAbi" Piker, Nick "NICKMERCS" Kolcheff, and Tina "TinaKitten". Twitch streamer and Valkyrae's friend Leslie "Fuslie" Fu was clearly ecstatic about the news, stating "GO RAE GO RAE!!! QUEEN OF YOUTUBE RETURNS." Even YouTube responded with "red is definitely your colour."

So, it's a red, red world for Valkyrae for now. However, as the contracts of some of Twitch's most-popular streamers come to an end, such as Imane "Pokimane" Anys, YouTube and Twitch's battle for content creators is far from over.
